Jonathan W. Gore, my great grand uncle, was born on 30 Dec 1830 in Ohio and was my Great grand father, George W. Gore's half brother. They had the same father, Thomas Gore, but different mothers. Jonathan's mother was Pricilla Smith. and George's was Achsah Whitacre. He enlisted in Co. "A" of the 47th Wisconsin Volunteer Regt., one day after brother George, on 11 Feb 1865 and was mustered out on 4 Sep 1865. The Gore family later moved to Sinnemahoning, Cameron County, PA where he lived with George's family at Wyside a section of Sinnemahoning. He was a mail carrier in Sinnamahoning and also worked in the woods. He never married and died on 9 Jul 1911. He is buried in the Wyside Cemetery at Sinnemahoning, PA. (grave site picture below)
